Every summer, North Mississippi Avenue in Portland, OR closes to traffic and transforms into Portland's largest street fair. This is a day-long celebration of community, creativity, and culture that draws thousands to the neighborhood.

The avenue closes to cars and opens to thousands. You walk freely among vendors, musicians, and neighbors—no gates, no tickets, just the street as it was meant to be.

Free admission, with the avenue open to foot traffic only.

Hundreds of local vendors offering everything from handmade goods and art to culinary treats and everything in between.

A Grandfather’s Rib-Off barbecue competition and delicious food options all along the street.

Live music spanning multiple stages showcasing Portland’s rich local music scene.

Beach on Beech - Join our own little oasis tucked off Mississippi Ave, themed drinks and merch, sponsored by She Bop. More info.

Family-friendly attractions,including a Kids Zone and a dedicated Kids Stage at Mississippi Pizza.

The fair is rain or shine, making it a dependable fixture of Portland’s summer festivities.

Everything you need to know before you come

What time does it start?

The fair runs from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with live music continuing until 9:00 PM. The event is rain or shine.

Can I bring my dog?

Leashed dogs are welcome on the avenue. Keep them close in the crowds and bring water for the day. Many of our restaurants have outdoor seating where your dog can rest while you eat.

Is there an admission fee?

The festival is free to attend. You pay only for what you eat, drink, or buy from our vendors and shops. Some performances may have separate ticketing if they're held at specific venues.

Where should I park?

Street parking fills early. The MAX yellow line is a short walk to Mississippi, and many people bike or take the bus. Arrive early if you drive.

Is the festival accessible?

The avenue is wheelchair accessible throughout. Accessible parking is available on side streets. We have accessible restrooms set up at multiple locations. Contact us if you need specific accommodations.
